Circuit connections

See your Internet, Ethernet, and IP VPN On-Demand circuits, their bandwidth and cost, sync from Lumen, and request manual speed changes with guardrails.

The Network section (branded “Flux” in some places) is where you manage the circuits delivered through your provider’s network partner. It is for admins, and it needs the Network add-on on your plan. Depending on your plan and role you may not see it in the sidebar. If you would like it enabled, or you think you should have access, ask your provider.

Your circuit inventory

/network/connections is your circuit inventory, kept in sync with your provider’s network partner. Circuits fall into three On-Demand families:

  • Internet On-Demand, with a minimum bandwidth of 1 Mbps.
  • Ethernet On-Demand, with a minimum of 50 Mbps.
  • IP VPN On-Demand, with a minimum of 50 Mbps.

Each circuit shows its current bandwidth, product, location, and cost. Click into a circuit for its Overview, bandwidth history, and utilization chart.

Sync from Lumen

Sync from Lumen pulls current circuit inventory (service IDs, bandwidth, location, product, and pricing) into Vigilis and links each circuit to a matching service. It also runs automatically every couple of hours, so the list stays current on its own.

Freshly issued credentials can take up to about a day before inventory works. If a sync comes back empty right after setup, use Test Connection on the Integrations tab to check the credentials, then try again.

Requesting a manual bandwidth change

From a connection’s Overview, pick a new speed and submit it. Most circuits change in place, but some carry guardrails:

  • Cloud-connect Ethernet circuits (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle, and similar) cannot be changed in place. You will see a red banner and a disabled button.
  • Azure IP VPN circuits cannot be decreased. You can raise the speed but not lower it here.
  • Some cloud increases show an amber “submit and warn” banner, telling you to request the change from the cloud provider first before it takes effect on their side.
  • A change already in progress locks the picker for about ten minutes, so a second request cannot collide with the one still running.

When a change is blocked, make it with the cloud provider directly, then let the next sync reflect the new speed.

Activity

/network/activity is a full log of every bandwidth change on your circuits, whether it came from a manual request, a schedule, or Auto-Flux. Each entry shows the from and to speed, status, source, who or what initiated it, and the time. Filter by status and source, or search by connection.

Common questions

Why is the bandwidth picker disabled or showing a red banner on my circuit?
That circuit cannot change speed in place. Cloud-connect Ethernet circuits (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle) are blocked outright, and an Azure IP VPN cannot be decreased. Make the change with the cloud provider instead.
How do I pull my current circuit inventory into Vigilis?
Click Sync from Lumen on the Connections page. It imports service IDs, bandwidth, location, product, and pricing, links a matching service, and also runs automatically every couple of hours.
