Navigating Vigilis

A tour of the Vigilis sidebar and top bar, global search with Cmd/Ctrl+K, keyboard shortcuts, and how to filter and save views on any data table.

The sidebar

The left sidebar is organized into sections. Depending on your role and your organization’s plan, you may not see every one; if a section is missing, see Roles and permissions.

Sections can be collapsed to save room. Network, Operations, and Reports start collapsed. You can pin (favorite) any item to surface it at the top of the sidebar for quick access; your favorites are remembered on the device you are using. An icon-only collapse toggle shrinks the whole sidebar to its icons when you want more space for the page.

The sections you may see are:

SectionWhat’s in it
HomeDashboard
BillingInvoices, Review Queue, Alerts
InventoryServices, Accounts, Locations
ContractsContracts, Pending Approval
NetworkConnections, Schedules, Auto-Flux, Activity
OperationsProjects, Tasks, Tickets
ReportsReports Hub, Financial, Budgets, AP/GL Report, Lifecycle, AI Reports, Pivot Table

The top bar

Every page has a top bar with:

  • A sidebar toggle to collapse or expand the left navigation.
  • A breadcrumb showing where you are.
  • Global search (see below).
  • A notification bell with an unread count that caps at “99+”. It refreshes about every minute, and opening it marks everything read.
  • A ? keyboard-shortcuts button that opens the shortcut help.
  • A Feedback button to reach your provider.

Press Cmd/Ctrl+K or click Search to open global search. Type between 2 and 100 characters and results stream in, grouped by type, up to 6 per group. When the box is empty, your recent searches (up to 5) show so you can jump back to them.

Search is scoped to your organization and covers nine kinds of records:

  • Services
  • Account Numbers
  • Invoices
  • Contracts
  • Locations
  • Tickets
  • Projects
  • Network Connections
  • Phone Numbers

Keyboard shortcuts

Vigilis has a small set of global shortcuts:

  • ? opens the shortcut help.
  • Cmd/Ctrl+K opens global search.
  • Esc closes a dialog.
  • / focuses the list search box on a page.

List pages add their own “This page” shortcuts, which you can see in the same shortcut help.

Filtering tables and saving views

Every data table supports inline column filtering. You can filter by text, by a select list, by yes/no, or by a date range. A chips bar shows your active filters with a Clear all button, and a Columns menu lets you show or hide columns.

When you have a table set up the way you like, save it as a view. A view remembers its filters, sort, and columns so you can return to it later. Column widths are remembered per device, so the same view can look right on both your laptop and a larger monitor.

Common questions

How do I search for something quickly in Vigilis?
Press Cmd/Ctrl+K anywhere to open global search. Type 2 to 100 characters and results stream in grouped by type, up to 6 per group, scoped to your organization.
Can I pin the pages I use most?
Yes. Pin any sidebar item to your favorites and it moves to the top for quick access. Favorites are remembered on the device you are using.
How do I save a filtered table so I do not have to set it up again?
Filter, sort, and choose columns on any data table, then save it as a view. Your view keeps its filters, sort, and columns, and column widths are remembered per device.
What keyboard shortcuts does Vigilis support?
