# Requesting a change (MACD)

**MACD** stands for move, add, change, disconnect: the everyday requests you make against a service, like upgrading a circuit's speed, moving it to a new address, renewing it, or disconnecting it.

## Raising a MACD request

A MACD is requested by opening a **ticket**. Use the **Service Lifecycle** support category and describe what you need, which service it applies to, and any dates that matter.

The **Tickets** area is admin-only. Depending on your plan and role, you may not see it. If you are a member, the quickest path is to ask an organization admin to open the Service Lifecycle ticket for you, or add the detail as a comment on the service so an admin can pick it up. For how tickets are tracked, see [Tasks and tickets](/operations/tasks-and-tickets/).

## The change-order (MAC) flag

When an admin creates or edits a service, they can mark it as a **change order (MAC)**. The flag records:

- A **reason**: upgrade, address change, renewal, or diversity.
- A **type** for the change.

Setting the flag records the change on the service itself, so the history of what changed and why stays attached to the service record.

## Common questions

**How do I request a move, add, change, or disconnect?**

Open a ticket under the Service Lifecycle support category describing what you need. If you are a member and cannot open tickets, ask an admin to raise it for you.

**Why can't I open a ticket for a service change?**

The Tickets area is admin-only. Depending on your plan and role you may not see it. Ask an organization admin to open the Service Lifecycle ticket on your behalf.

**What is a change order (MAC) on a service?**

When creating or editing a service, an admin can flag it as a change order with a reason (upgrade, address change, renewal, or diversity) and a type. This records the change on the service.
